Life Being Little – Growing up 4ft tall – In 2021, Danielle Webb published her first children’s book ‘Mummy, there’s a new girl’ which aims to promote dwarfism and diversity in children’s literature. A frequent writer and blogger, she speaks here about her experiences of publishing her book and the need for representation of dwarfism and disabilities; an uplifting, informative session for children, their parents/carers and early years workers. Danielle was born with achondroplasia, a form of short-limbed dwarfism, and stands 3ft 11ins tall. She has an MA in Working with Children and Young people. In recent years she has taken part in national street dance competitions and has featured in articles in Cosmopolitan and Fabulous magazines. 12.30am – 1pm FREE
Alistair Sims, founder of BOTH Press – the first British publisher nominated for its adult dyslexia fiction range at The British Book Awards 2023. BOTH Press, a social enterprise project from Books on the Hill, works with talented, award- winning authors producing dyslexic-friendly books for adults, thus making good quality fiction accessible to anyone not currently catered for by today’s mass book market. On World Book Day BOTH was awarded the Points of Light Award for positive change. Alistair will be interviewed by Annie Robinson (a Festival director). 1.15pm – 1.45pm FREE
